• OVERGROWN: BLENDER STUDIO REVEALS ITS NEW FEATURE-FILM WORLD

Blender Studio has revealed the official teaser for OVERGROWN, its upcoming feature-film project, premiered on 14 September 2026.

For artists, animators and independent developers, this is more than another animated production. Blender Studio projects demonstrate how open-source software can support a complete professional pipeline—from modelling and rigging to animation, lighting, effects and final rendering.

The teaser introduces a richly overgrown world where nature, character design and environmental storytelling are closely connected. Even a short preview offers useful inspiration: silhouettes guide the viewer, colour separates characters from complex environments, and lighting creates depth without explaining every detail.

OVERGROWN is also worth following because Blender Studio productions often open a window into the creative process. Production logs, technical discussions and selected assets can turn a finished film into learning material for the wider community.

That matters especially to smaller teams. An independent creator often moves between concept art, modelling, materials, animation and editing. Seeing how those disciplines meet in a real project can be more valuable than studying each tool in isolation.

The project reflects a broader strength of open creative ecosystems: films can improve the software used to make them, while software development enables artists to attempt more ambitious work.

  • Has anything actually changed for the next Mass Effect? Yes—but mostly behind the scenes.

BioWare’s latest official update confirms that the next Mass Effect is still in development and that the studio is focused exclusively on it. That is reassuring. At the same time, there is still no new gameplay, release window, final title or fresh trailer to analyse.

BioWare has also confirmed that the planned Amazon series will tell a new story set after the original trilogy, rather than replaying Commander Shepard’s path.

For now, the sensible read is simple: Mass Effect is alive, but BioWare is not ready to show its hand yet.

What should the next game get right first—companions, exploration, combat, choices, or that unforgettable first-time-on-the-Normandy feeling?

  • Welcome to FanVault

FanVault is an independent, fan-made companion currently being developed for Fallout 76 players, clans and community groups.

The goal is simple: give players a lightweight place to stay connected before, during and after a session. Planned features include guild spaces, focused text channels, direct messages, player profiles, platform and gamer-tag information, event coordination and a compact Windows overlay.

FanVault will use Net-Twin as its community home and account foundation. The project is still in active development, so the screenshots and concepts shown here represent work in progress—not a finished release.

Follow this page if you would like to watch FanVault grow from an early prototype into a useful community tool.

  • FanVault is under construction

The first FanVault prototype already includes a compact chat interface, multiple channels, direct-message concepts, member profiles, status indicators, emoji support and the foundation of a Windows desktop client.

However, this is still an early development build. Before a public beta, the project needs secure Net-Twin sign-in, real guilds and permissions, persistent chat history, moderation tools, a hardened Windows overlay and thorough testing.

Voice chat and other large features are deliberately planned for later. The first public version should be small, dependable and genuinely useful.

Development updates, design previews and future testing information will be shared here on the official FanVault page.

  • Director Alex Garland (Ex Machina) will direct the upcoming #EldenRing film. George R. R. Martin will produce the film.

A live-action adaptation of Elden Ring, the acclaimed action RPG developed by FromSoftware, is officially in development. The film will be written and directed by Alex Garland, known for Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War. Production is a collaboration between A24, Bandai Namco, and DNA Films, with Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, George R. R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis serving as producers.

George R. R. Martin, who co-authored the game's lore, will also serve as a co-producer, ensuring continuity between the game's narrative and its cinematic adaptation.

Alex Garland's involvement has generated excitement among fans, particularly due to his evident passion for the game. In a recent Reddit AMA, Garland revealed that he's currently on his seventh playthrough (NG+6) of the game's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, expressing his deep enjoyment and obsession with the game. This level of dedication has reassured many fans that Garland is a true enthusiast of the FromSoftware universe, raising hopes for a faithful adaptation.

While specific plot details and casting have yet to be announced, the film is expected to explore the expansive narrative of the game, which follows a Tarnished protagonist seeking to restore the Elden Ring in the mysterious Lands Between.

The Elden Ring film adaptation is still in the early stages of development, and further details are anticipated in the coming months.

I`ll keep you up to date about the movie project.

    Kind regards, Andy 🤩

  • How is the development of Mass Effect 5 going?

Gary McKay, Bioware's General Manager, recently spoke on the blog on the official website. First, he reported on the future of Star Wars: The Old Republic and went into the current status of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, from which there will probably be new material to be seen shortly. Then he came to talk about Mass Effect 5, but his statements shouldn't exactly cause a storm of jubilation among the fans.

"As for Mass Effect 5, we remain in pre-production with a core team of veteran writers who are advancing the franchise's rich story in spectacular new ways."

At first glance, this statement seems very general and actually has no tangible information to offer. However, it makes it clear that the release of Mass Effect 5 is still a long way off and will be a few years away.

    We keep you updated!

    Kind regards, Andreas :)

  • Mass Effect 5: Everything we know so far

Bioware is working on a new Mass Effect game, and although we don't have many details on what's effectively Mass Effect 5, at least we know it's coming. It's early days for the game's development, with a blog post recently detailing that it's still in pre-production but "development has been proceeding very well".

We have had some concept art, but realistically details on what the new Mass Effect game will be are pretty light. What we do know is that the next Mass Effect game looks set to be a follow-up to the original Mass Effect trilogy - which are often counted among the best RPGs around. BioWare also recently committed to it being a single-player experience like those that came before it, and we have additional details like it will feature returning characters from the original trilogy.

With some of the best game stories around, the prospect of another entry in the series has us all excited. While we may be in for quite the wait to see the game arrive, we will write more about everything we know so far about Mass Effect 5 in the next time. You are also very welcome to share some news.

    Kind regards, Andy
